Emmaleigh is from Tillsonburg, a small town in southwestern Ontario. She received her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Canadian Studies with an Emphasis in Law and Policy and an Option in Indigenous Reconciliation and Resurgence from Trent University.  Emmaleigh is currently in her third year at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law and expects to receive her Juris Doctor degree in June of 2025. Throughout her academic career, she has earned a number of awards for both her academic performance and written works.

Emmaleigh has experience volunteering for ProBono Students of Canada, working at Lakehead University Community Legal Services, and for the Office of the Mizhinawe. She is especially excited to learn more about First Nations governance, Labour and Employment, and Human Rights in her role as a placement student at Paquette & Associates.

Emmaleigh has grown to love Thunder Bay and all that it has to offer. In her free time, she can be found enjoying the outdoors either by stand up paddle boarding, hiking, or skating.
